Dr. Andreas Spinrath
Dr. Andreas Spinrath is a German Patent Attorney and authorized representative before the European Patent Office. Due to his many years of experience in the field of intellectual property and his broad scientific background, Dr. Spinrath is able to advise clients on patent law issues in the fields of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology including supplementary protection certificates (SPC).
Dr. Spinrath regularly assists international clients in opposition (appeal) proceedings before the European Patent Office and in national proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office as well as the German courts in patent and SPC matters.
Dr. Spinrath also provides expert opinions on validity and infringement issues.
Curriculum Vitae
Before his admission as a German Patent Attorney in January 2014 and as a representative before the European Patent Office in July 2015, Dr. Spinrath successfully completed an academy course on "Intellectual Property Law" at the Distance-Learning University of Hagen. He has also worked in the Intellectual Property and Licensing department of one of the world's leading biotechnology companies in the development and manufacture of innovative technologies and products in the field of pre-analytical sample preparation and molecular biological testing. Prior to that he served inventors at the University of Bonn as a “Patentscout”.
Dr. Spinrath acquired his broad scientific background through his degree in biology at the Heinrich-Heine-University of Düsseldorf and his subsequent PhD at the Institute for Pharmaceutical Biology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn.
